The Olympian Symposium 2026 was attended by 133 participants. It covered the topic of the interstellar medium evolution across cosmic times.
For the first time, we introduced the Astronomy Park, a two-day public outreach event designed to bring astronomy and science closer to everyone. With activities for children, families, and visitors of all ages, we were truly overwhelmed to welcome more than 6000 attendees. The highlight of this public celebration was undoubtedly the public talk by Reinhard Genzel — the first Nobel Laureate ever to deliver a public talk in the city of Katerini.
This year also brought another historic moment to the conference: we had the honour of welcoming former NASA Astronaut Bonnie Dunbar, who visited the Olympian Symposium and delivered a special talk to conference participants.
As every year, the participants had special moments that shared together: the welcome reception, the excursions that allowed to experience the beauty of the Olympus Riviera, including the hike to the historic Mt. Olympus. Of course, the Greek-style conference dinner stands now as an additional memorable experience.
